Support Independent Journalism
Behind The INCI accepts no brand partnerships, no sponsored content, and no affiliate commissions. Every investigation is funded by the time of the people who write it. Reader support is the only way to make that sustainable.
Where It Goes
Every article requires access to peer-reviewed clinical literature, INCI databases, and cosmetic chemistry references. These are not free.
Brand Exposed investigations take 8–15 hours each. No brand pays for them. No affiliate commission funds them. Reader support does.
Every article, every investigation, every INCI Transparency Score remains free to read. Support keeps it that way.
Reader support means we answer to readers, not advertisers. The more of our budget that comes from readers, the more independent our journalism stays.
How to Support
The most important thing you can do. Every subscriber makes the publication more viable, improves our negotiating position with sponsors, and signals to the industry that ingredient-honest journalism has an audience.
A one-off contribution via Ko-fi. No account required. No recurring commitment. If an article or investigation was useful to you, this is a direct way to say so.
Support on Ko-fiSharing an article with someone who would find it useful is genuinely valuable. It grows the readership, which makes the publication more sustainable. No social media account required — a direct link works.

Behind The INCI is currently funded entirely by the time of its founders. We accept limited newsletter sponsorships from brands that meet our editorial standards (see our media kit). Reader contributions via Ko-fi go directly toward research costs, database access, and the time required to produce independent investigations. We do not publish financial statements at this stage, but we commit to disclosing all commercial relationships clearly and prominently.
