Ceramide NP

Ceramide NP

Also known as: Ceramide 3, N-Stearoyl Phytosphingosine

Ceramide NP (ceramide 3) is one of the most abundant ceramides in the stratum corneum, comprising approximately 20% of the total ceramide content. It plays a critical role in maintaining the skin's water barrier and preventing transepidermal water loss. Depleted in dry, eczema-prone, and ageing skin. Best used in combination with other ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids for optimal barrier restoration.
