Lanolin

Also known as: Wool Wax, Wool Grease, Adeps Lanae

Lanolin is a wax secreted by the sebaceous glands of wool-bearing animals. Its composition closely resembles human sebum, making it highly compatible with skin. It is one of the most effective emollients and occlusives available, with excellent water-binding properties. A small percentage of people have lanolin sensitivity, but it is generally well-tolerated.
