Exfoliant

Polyhydroxy Acids (PHAs)

Gluconolactone

Also known as: PHA

Polyhydroxy acids (PHAs) are a newer generation of exfoliating acids with larger molecular weights than AHAs, resulting in slower skin penetration and significantly better tolerability. Gluconolactone and lactobionic acid are the most common PHAs. They also have humectant and antioxidant properties. Suitable for sensitive skin types, including rosacea-prone skin.
