Hyaluronic Acid

Sodium Hyaluronate

Also known as: HA, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hyaluronan

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring polysaccharide that can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. In skincare, it is used as sodium hyaluronate (the salt form), which penetrates more readily due to its smaller molecular weight. It provides immediate surface hydration and plumping. Multiple molecular weights are often combined for layered hydration across different skin depths.
